Reading Surrah Kahf on Friday

Reciting Surah Al-Kahf on Friday is a highly recommended Sunnah that carries immense spiritual reward and protection. The Prophet ﷺ encouraged this act as a means of receiving light (nūr) that guides a person throughout the week. It reminds the believer of key trials — of faith, wealth, knowledge, and power — and strengthens their connection to the Qur’an. Making it a habit every Friday builds consistency in recitation and reflection, while also serving as a shield against Dajjal (the Antichrist), as mentioned in authentic narrations.

The Prophet ﷺ said:
Whoever recites Surah Al-Kahf on the day of Jumu‘ah, will have a light that will shine from him from one Friday to the next.”
— Al-Hakim, authenticated by Al-Albani in Sahih al-Jami‘ (6470)

In another hadith:
“Whoever memorizes the first ten verses of Surah Al-Kahf will be protected from the Dajjal.”
— Sahih Muslim 809

These narrations show that Surah Al-Kahf isn’t just about reward — it’s about spiritual survival in times of deception. Regular recitation is a powerful act of devotion and preparation.
